ARE WEDDING PLANNERS WORTH IT?

In short, absolutely YES. But I don’t want you to just take my word for it, so conveniently for you, I asked some of the best people within the wedding industry for their take on this question.

Tanya of Bureau Design

“From the biggest decisions like finding your venue, to the smallest of details on the day, a planner can make the whole experience of getting married more relaxed and enjoyable for you.

Personally, I love working with wedding planners. For me, having a refined creative direction to work with alongside a clear idea of budget means we can get the best out of every brief for couples.

Abi isn’t afraid to push boundaries creatively with her design-led approach, while remaining authentic to her couples wishes and vision.  also know which suppliers will suit the vision for your day, and which ones can be trusted to deliver, saving you time and money.”

“Having a wedding planner is essential for ensuring that your big day unfolds seamlessly. From managing vendor contracts to orchestrating timelines and handling unexpected hiccups, a wedding planner takes the stress off your shoulders, serving as the backbone to your event and allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the joy of the occasion.

Their expertise not only ensures that every aspect of the wedding day runs smoothly but also alleviates stress for both vendors and couples alike. This impacts on the quality of photos I create for my couples and on guests having the best time of their life celebrating with the couple.

Abi is one of the most talented wedding planners and stylists that I have come across in my whole 10 year career. She is always extremely organized, thinks outside of the box and is open minded. She is flexible and quickly finds a solution to any issue. I would love to reserve Abi for myself and work with her on every wedding, which I don't think would be possible. I will always recommend her to my couples without a question.”

Hiring a planner is so worth it, they know what they're doing; they have the experience not only with suppliers but also with timelines. You will save yourselves hundreds of hours when you hire a wedding planner.

They are the point of contact for all suppliers and with a global vision and understanding of how the wedding day will unfold and what it will look like, making it so much easier for suppliers to work together and create a cohesive aesthetic.

As a stationer, knowing the floral arrangements on the tables and how the plates and crockery will look like and be displayed is valuable information for my creative process as I will always strive to create stationery that live harmoniously besides all the other tablescape elements.

“Hiring a wedding planner brings invaluable expertise and a refined sense of style to your special day, ensuring every detail aligns seamlessly with your vision.

By carefully selecting wedding suppliers that complement your aesthetic, wedding planners curate a cohesive and unforgettable experience, elevating your celebration to new heights of elegance and sophistication.

After collaborating with Abi on numerous occassions, I confidently recommend her wedding planning services without hesitation, as her creativity, professionalism, and ability to bring concepts to life consistently exceed expectations, making her an invaluable asset to any couple's journey towards their perfect day.”

“Wedding planners are literally the best investment you will make for your wedding! Planning a wedding should be the most exciting time of your lives but can so often be the most stressful.

In most cases, this is the first time a couple will have planned a wedding and as such, they will have little experience in where to start, what questions to ask etc. An experienced planner will have done this many times so will bring a sense of calm and confidence that will put a couple at ease.

Planners will also have a wealth of ideas if there’s a certain look or aesthetic you’re aiming for. And let’s not forget a wedding planners ‘little black book’! They will have worked with many suppliers who all offer something different and therefore they will be able to recommend the best suppliers for you in terms of the style/theme of your wedding, location and budget.”

“I’ve been lucky enough to have been in the industry for 10 years now and during that time I’ve worked with a lot of wedding planners, I’ve also worked with couples who choose only to work with venue co-ordinators and some who do everything all on their own.

I can wholeheartedly say that weddings are always a wonderful and completely different experience for everyone involved, (not just the couple, but the suppliers and the guests) when my couples choose to work with a good wedding planner.

A planner is like the director of the team, they will go the extra mile to organise and work seamlessly with all the suppliers from day one.

They alleviate all the stress of timelines, styling, and logistics and will always be thinking one step ahead. On the day they will deal with any issues that arise so that the couples and guests only ever experience the magic of the wedding day, and never even have to see the amount of hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

Abi and I have had the pleasure of working together a few times and she is not only a very talented planner and designer but always an absolute joy to work with and an invaluable member of the supplier team.”
